Description

The majestic Empress Maiadea is the ruler of the Orpheans, better known to us as the Roswell aliens. Despite her calm appearance, she rules her people with an iron tentacle. The Orpheans are the best craftsmen this side of the universe, and she knows it, often manipulating businesses and establishing the highest taxes and tariffs she can get away with in order to finance her extravagant personal life. This extreme oppression of the economy, which has hit the textile and carpentry industries harder than most, has led to a quite unusual black market that specializes in home decor. Smugglers can be found at almost any bar in the galaxy, offering anything from luxurious couches to intergalactically-famous Orphean rugs to the fashionable trillionaire whose mansion needs a sprucing up.
